Pipe mill purchases new OMS tolerance checking technology

OMS has launched the new Auto Tolerance Checker with a number of orders already secured from pipe producers. The tool carries out 2,000 scans which are calibrated and verified to traceable standards, and allows pipe manufacturers to accurately measure pipe end geometry. The scanned profile is smoothed out to 1,000 data points that provide users with minimum, maximum and average measurements of internal diameter (ID), outer diameter (OD), wall thickness (WT) and out-of-roundness (OoR).
