  • Alex Felce

    CEO

    Alex is a chartered mechanical engineer with a wealth of experience in the energy and automotive sectors, including previous roles at GE Oil & Gas and Delphi Diesel Systems. He joined OMS in 2015 to manage the analysis team and has since held roles as Engineering Manager, where he oversaw the busy R&D team, and Chief Technology Officer, where he was responsible for setting and running the company’s technical strategy. In his various roles at OMS Alex has played a vital part in helping the business survive difficult circumstances caused by the oil price crash and achieve some of its most profitable years. He was appointed CEO in August 2020.

  • Dr Tim Clarke

    CHAIRMAN

    Following a distinguished academic career, Dr Tim Clarke founded Optical Metrology Services in 2004 to provide measurement services to companies in the oil and gas industry. In 2014 the collapse in oil prices had a profound effect on operations at OMS. Having taken a back seat, Tim returned in 2017 to lead the successful rebuilding process, setting out a clear strategy to determine what customers needed and helping build up the weld inspection services that now make up a large part of the business. Tim is a serial entrepreneur with a constant focus on innovation that has helped build OMS into a world-leading measurement and inspection company with three Queen’s Awards for Innovation to its name.

  • Paul Eagle

    SALES DIRECTOR

    Paul, an experienced leader with many years’ of sales, management and training experience gained in prominent businesses such as Camelot, joined OMS in 2016. As Sales Director he runs our busy team of sales and marketing professionals, helping deliver high quality projects that meet our clients’ requirements. He is responsible for managing complex sales cycles to ensure that customer needs are fully understood by our technical teams and leading a motivated team to identify and qualify new business. Paul also takes the lead on promoting the latest OMS innovations, ensuring that complex technical designs are translated into real-world solutions offering true value to customers.

  • Jack Parlane

    CHIEF DESIGN ENGINEER

    Jack joined OMS as a Design Engineer in 2006, having graduated from the University of Glasgow with a masters’ in Product Design Engineering. Now as Chief Design Engineer Jack leads our busy R&D team which designs and builds innovative solutions for our client’s problems, frequently working ahead of the curve to identify solutions to issues before our customers know they will need them. Jack has wide experience in designing bespoke mechatronic systems which have been successfully manufactured and installed across a wide range of industries. Most notably he recently led the development of our award-winning weld inspection technology, the AUGA.node.

  • Jake Barber

    OPERATIONS MANAGER

    As Operations Manager, Jake leads our operations department, which consists of several project managers, data analysts, engineers, administrators and around 30 external contractors. He is responsible for overseeing all OMS projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, to budget and to the customer’s satisfaction. Internally, Jake works closely with Alex to design and implement business strategy, assists with the day-to-day running of the business, manages quality control of all commercial documentation and provides training, coaching and mentoring to staff. He joined OMS in 2021.

  • Ian Frankham-Wells

    SOFTWARE MANAGER

    Ian joined OMS in 2018 and has led our software team since 2020. OMS offers several software programs that complement our range of measurement and inspection tools, all written in LabVIEW. These are under continuous development as our clients’ needs change over time. Ian manages our team of software engineers and is responsible for ensuring all our software meets client requirements and for developing new systems to support our latest technological innovations. Prior to joining OMS, Ian gained wide experience in industrial software engineering working for firms such as Polatis and Teledyne e2v.
